Introduction
Empire Pianos is a well established business founded in 2002, based in Stebbing, Essex. It is a business that deals with anything piano related. The main emphasis of our work is concert piano hire; we have a vast range of pianos for hire for concerts, events and functions.
We undertake restorative work with our workshop covering a range of requirements. We have worked on a range of instruments to restore them for both sentimental and concert events to modern bespoke pianos for interior designers.
Empire Pianos offers a range of services for all of your piano requirements. We are always more than happy to advise people on all aspects of pianos. We are experienced in the fields of Piano Tuning, Restoration, Servicing, Hiring, Purchasing... All advice is given free of charge and with no obligations.
Hire
We offer a unique service that differs from other companies. It is not just the haulage of the piano that we specialise in, but a whole bespoke service that has been honed over the years. Our service includes: tuning, installation and all technical requirements.
The acoustic pianos are tuned and maintained to the highest level. We offer a service that differs from other hire/backline companies in the respect that your instrument will be delivered with at least one concert technician; their wealth of knowledge and experience mean the piano will be delivered in a concert ready state.
This alleviates the usual issues of having to separately book a technician or tuner and then having to liaise between several different parties and timings. We can provide all of these services for you within the price structure.
We offer short term hire for concerts, events and functions. We have handpicked a large selection of Grand, Upright and Electric Pianos.
Empire has provided instruments for many famous musicians and prodigious events. From the Royal Albert Hall to the local village hall we have provided our unique service. Musicians, promoters, wedding and party organisers regularly rely on our expert advice and quality service.
Fleet

The cost of hiring a piano includes ‘in hours’ delivery and collection; tuning upon installation, a piano stool, cover and insurance.

Please contact us for further information and prices as each hire is different; distance, length of use and access to a venue need to be considered.
As of Summer 2022 the main pianos on our fleet consist of those listed; this is subject to change. Please feel free to make contact to discuss your event requirements. We are able to offer advice on the best instrument to suit your venue, artist and or repertoire.

We have the capabilities to source or create pianos for some unusual requests. We have provided alternative instruments for promotional events, television work and interior projects.
Examples of this are from spraying a piano gold for a perfume advert, finishing a piano in pink to match the scatter cushions for an international popstar, to providing a crystal piano to be blown up for the film industry!
Storage

Unlike most commercial storage, we can keep your piano in a secure environment where both temperature and humidity are properly controlled. This maximises tuning stability and avoids the damage which extreme conditions often cause.
We also offer experienced and sensitive collection and delivery of your instrument to ensure it is the most convenient transition.
Sometimes customers opt for work to be done on the instruments whilst it’s in storage. This then causes the least amount of disruption for the musician as well as an instrument that is returned to you in even better working order or physical appearance.
Moves
With our passion and knowledge of piano moving, restoration and hires we aim to give you a problem free, safe piano move. Our fleet has air suspension which helps provide a smooth ride for your piano whilst in transit.
The vehicles are fully insulated and are equipped with climate control which enables us to control the temperature which can effect the tuning and regulation. An inventory of the condition of all pianos is agreed before transportation begins.
This combined with our full insurance, experience and efficient service will save you a great deal of unnecessary stress.
